Painted in ink with an egret perched on a boat with a gold background, seals read Unkoku Totetsu (1631-1683). This is a later copy
The Unkoku school was the legitimate successor of the great Japanese painter and Zen practitioner Sesshu (1420-1506). The manner was austere and tranquil when compared to other types of painting at the time.
